Air Canada keeps quiet about online deal glitch

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Some angry Air Canada passengers are ready to fight, if they can’t fly.

Court documents have been filed in BC and Quebec, seeking a class action lawsuit by customers who thought they had purchased a 10 flight travel pass, but quickly learned Air Canada would not honour the tickets.

The pass — offered for a few days last month — covered 10 business class flights in the western US or Canada and was sold for just $800, but was discontinued because Air Canada says the actual price should have been $8,000.

The airline says a computer problem caused the pricing error, but customers who bought the passes — and now can’t use them — argue Air Canada has refused to live up to its contractual obligations and potentially thousands of people could be affected.
