VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Many people are wondering what kind of impact Social media could have on the upcoming federal election when it comes to young people.
Surprisingly it isn’t Twitter!
Alise Mills, the executive director for Conservative Voice is finding Instagram to be where both party leaders and millennials are benefiting most from social media by posting pictures and provoking dialogue there, she says, reaches a different audience, allowing for more conversation than the allotted 140 twitter characters.
“Twitter probably plays second-fiddle to what they’re seeing on Instagram and all three leaders aren’t doing a lot on Instagram, but Instagram is the number one choice in that demographic.”
She adds Facebook is another great way for party leaders to connect with a wide range of potential voters.
