RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A young man from Richmond is now charged with first-degree murder after a frightening kidnapping last month led to the discovery of a body in a North Vancouver neighbourhood.

He and three others had already been hit with serious charges.

Homicide investigators say the accused appeared yesterday in court and will be kept in jail until his next appearance.

Sergeant Stephanie Ashton with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says charges were approved after a body was found on September 29th. “Yesterday, charges were approved for first-degree murder against Tian Zhang. He’s a 23-year-old male from Richmond who was previously charged with kidnapping and indignity to a body in relation to a body in relation to a homicide in North Vancouver at the end of September.”

Zhang along with Casey Hiscoe, Dyllan Green, and Jacob Gorelik were already charged with indignity to a body.

A 22-year-old man’s remains were found at a home near Wellington Drive and Sykes Road in Lynn Valley.

Ashton says police can’t yet share what the motive was.
