Will Jian Ghomeshi be able to recover his image?

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Jian Ghomeshi may have been acquitted of all charges in his sexual assault trial, whether or not the former star CBC Radio host can bounce back when it comes to his image is another question.

Ghomeshi was silent after his trial ended Thursday and hasn’t spoken publicly for some time.

Staying out of the spotlight is the best thing he can do in the short-term says Vancouver image consultant Kimberly Law.

“I would wait until things cool off a little bit in the press and in the public. Sort of let things go for a bit. I think it’s still a little bit early to say exactly how he would come back from it but I think whatever he does, it’s going to be very difficult,” says Law.

Eventually, she says the 48-year-old Ghomeshi will have to face the public, which will be no easy task.

“I think it’s tough, I really do. I think for anybody to re-brand themselves or rebuild their image or reputation after going through something like this, they really do have to make a strong stance to the public,” says Law.

Complicating things further, Ghomeshi is due back in court in June to face another sexual assault charge which will undoubtedly have him back in the news once again.
