Pot activist Dana Larsen taken into custody in Calgary

(CALGARY) NEWS 1130 — Long-time marijuana legalization activist Dana Larsen has been arrested at an event in Calgary — the second stop on his OverGrow Canada tour where he planned to hand out free cannabis seeds.

Friend Lisa Kirkman says during the questions portion of his Calgary presentation, police in attendance took a volunteer, who was handing out product, into custody.

“Dana said, well those are mine, those seeds, I’m giving them out really, and he also said if anybody else wanted to volunteer to get similarly arrested then they are free to do so.”

Larsen was taken into custody outside the event after friends say his car was searched.

They believe he was arrested under a charge of possessing about 6 seeds.

“Everyone was chanting Shame, Shame, Shame, this is a waste of tax dollars.”

Kirkman says the arrest underlines everything Dana was speaking about.

“Knowing Dana, I think this will just drive him to push forward even more so.”

Larson wants to give away a million seeds in person or by mail to “see cannabis growing openly from coast to coast.”
