BC child killer seeks new date for high-risk offender hearing

By

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – Allan Schoenborn, the man found not criminally responsible for killing his three children in Merritt several years ago, is in court today for a procedural hearing.

Dave Teixeira speaks for the family of Schoenborn’s ex-wife Darcie Clarke. “I believe it’s another delay tactic by the defence. We were notified by the Crown yesterday that defence wanted to go into court to ask for yet another delay in the high-risk designation hearing. It’s very, very frustrating.”

“I wish the legal team and Schoenborn’s doctors would spend as much energy getting him healthy as they do trying to get him out of legal proceedings.”

The child killer is back before the BC Review Board next month. He seems oblivious, nor do his doctors or lawyers seem to be aware that these treatments will help him and help him reintegrate into society. ”

Schoenborn was found not criminally responsible for stabbing his 10-year-old daughter and smothering his eight and five-year-old sons back in 2008.

He has been held at Colony Farm Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam since 2008.
