VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A cargo ship that spilled 2,700 litres of bunker fuel into the waters of Vancouver’s English Bay last April has returned to BC.
The MV Marathassa arrived in Prince Rupert last night and is scheduled to stay in the city’s harbour for two weeks. The ship will be loading from the Prince Rupert Grain Terminal.
The fuel leak in Vancouver last year sparked public outrage, drawing attention to Conservative cuts to the Canadian Coast Guard.
