White Rock crews retrieve items from scorched apartment units after weekend fire

WHITE ROCK (NEWS 1130) – It’s a small victory for some people in White Rock who are without a home following that big weekend fire.

Firefighters have been able to retrieve some items from units on the top floor of the burnt out building.

One woman now has her identity back.

“They got in and got my purse for me! They gave me my wallet and I now have identification,” says Kena Anderson-Fry.

Anderson-Fry says she only had time to get dressed, grab her cat and dog and get out of dodge when the fire alarm rang early Sunday morning.

There’s still no word on what sparked the massive blaze.

The City of White Rock has lifted the boil water advisory that was in effect following the fire.
