Lytton wildfire still burning, evacuation order downgraded to alert

LYTTON (NEWS 1130) – A wildfire burning near Lytton has grown to 532 hectares — about the size of Stanley Park.
Fire Information Officer Max Birkner says it’s about 50 per cent contained.
“We have 91 firefighters still on the fire and we have three pieces of heavy equipment and three helicopters that are still working on the fire.”

An evacuation order for the area has been downgraded to an alert, and people have been allowed back into their homes.
