Violent week in the Lower Mainland

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – Police are looking into a homicide in Richmond — just one incident in a violent week in the Lower Mainland.

The man was taken to Richmond General Hospital last night around midnight and died from injuries consistent with foul play.

Homicide investigators say it was targeted and that no one has been arrested.

In another case, one man is dead after a shooting in Downtown Vancouver last night.

Police say they were called to the Savoy Hotel on East Hastings Street just before 10:30 p.m. for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived they found a man in his 50s who would later die in the hospital.

Police say the investigation in the Downtown Eastside is still in its early stages.

This after a shooting in Surrey on Thursday where no one was hurt.

On Tuesday two men were rushed to the hospital after being shot in Abbotsford.

On Monday a man was killed by gunfire as he was driving his SUV on 96th Avenue in Surrey.
