More arrests in connection to London terror attack

LONDON, UK. (NEWS 1130) – Anti-terrorism police in London have made what they’re calling more significant arrests in connection with this week’s attack on the British Parliament buildings.

A total of nine people are now in custody in connection to the deadly attack. Thousands of items, including computer data, have been seized. These arrests come as investigators try to find out as much as they can about the man responsible for the attack.

Police raided a room at the Preston Park Hotel in Brighton after the attack, searching for clues about Khalid Masood, who has also been identified by his prior name, Adrian Russell Ajao. Masood had apparently checked in under his own name and mentioned having a couple of children, as well as troubles with an ailing father.

London’s top anti-terror officer Chief Mark Rowley is pleading for anyone who knew 52-year-old Masood to come forward. “We need to find out if either he acted totally alone, inspired by perhaps terrorist propaganda, or if others were encouraged, supported or directed him.”

The attacker drove his car into crowds of people on Westminster Bridge on Wednesday afternoon, killing three at the scene, before stabbing a police officer to death at the Parliament buildings. He was shot dead by police.

The death toll stands at five, including the suspect, however, the number of those injured in the attack has jumped from 29 to about 50.
