Surrey Creep Catchers post another video claiming to nab sex predator

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The Surrey Creep Catchers claim they’ve caught another individual they believed to be attempting to lure a child over the Internet.

The most recent post to the controversial organization’s Facebook page shows the club’s president Ryan Laforge violently leading the charge once again along with two other individuals physically taking down a man inside a mall. The group is seen tackling the person to the ground and grabbing him in a headlock.

“You came to have sex with a seven-year-old girl!” shouts LaForge, at the man who tried scuffling with the vigilante group before ultimately conceding he had been outnumbered.

“You’re under citizen’s arrest,” shouts each member of the group at various points during the 11-minute video that ends with police arriving and the suspect in question being handcuffed by the RCMP.

The group is part of a loose collection of similar organizations across Canada that try to expose people they claim are child sexual predators by posing as minors, arranging to meet their targets, and then sharing footage of the confrontation on the Internet.

Two weeks ago, the group claimed Laforge had been arrested after taking down a man they said had been also trying to arrange for sex with a child. The club is also dealing with two separate lawsuits that have been filed in BC Supreme Court against the head of the Surrey Creep Catchers.

One was filed by a Campbell River man alleging LaForge defamed him by sharing a series of public posts labelling him as a pedophile. Another lawsuit filed by an Abbotsford resident says LaForge defamed him by publishing Facebook posts that wrongly insinuated he was procuring sexual relations with a minor.

LaForge denies the defamation allegations, saying he has the freedom to state his opinion.
