Steveston ramp collapses stranding restaurant patrons

By

STEVESTON (NEWS 1130) – The ramp to a floating fish and chips restaurant has collapsed at Steveston Wharf stranding dozens of people.

The ramp leading down to Pajo’s fell into the water about 2:00 p.m. Sunday.

Peter Price with Richmond Fire says there was a minor medical situation removing someone from the landing to the shore.

Nobody was tossed into the water, but some people were on the ramp when it buckled and collapsed.

Price says he’s not sure about the cause of the collapse.
