VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Local police are reminding you that as of Tuesday, the speed limit will be lower in school zones.
“School zones are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Unless otherwise posted, speed limits are 30km/h and fines range from $196 to $483,” explains VPD Constable Jason Doucette.
Officers will be out in full force, keeping an eye on things during the first few weeks of classes.
“We believe in education and enforcement — whatever is appropriate at the time — but we have very little tolerance for behaviours that put children at risk,” adds Doucette.
