Two men stabbed after scuffle in Downtown Vancouver, no arrests

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Investigators with the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section are interviewing witnesses after a double stabbing in the Granville Entertainment District overnight.

Officers were called out at about 2:30 a.m. following reports of, what they describe, as a disturbance in the area of Granville and Robson Streets. When they got there they found two men suffering from stab wounds.

The men, age 29 and 55-years-old, were both taken to the hospital where they are in serious condition, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect took off and the VPD doesn’t think this was a random attack and evidence collected so far shows that the stabbing happened during or after some sort of confrontation.

Anyone with information about this case, including surveillance or other video footage, is asked to call the VPD’s Major Crime Section at 604.717.2541.

The force has deployed extra officers to the Granville strip on weekend nights so they’re able to respond quickly since things tend to be so busy.
