VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver Police are asking for your help in finding a white vehicle associated with the home where two people were murdered Wednesday afternoon.

The VPD says a 2014 White Kia Soul with BC licence plate ACK 605 connected to the address is unaccounted for, and ask that you call 911 if you see it.

Investigators have confirmed the discovery of two bodies yesterday in the Marpole area is the result of a double homicide.

The bodies of the man and woman, both of whom were in their 60s, were found at the home on West 64th Avenue near Hudson Street yesterday afternoon.

“A friend of the residents went to the house to say hello or to check on them. When they went there, they noticed something that caught their attention that led to the police being called. We arrived shortly after the phone call,” says Constable Jason Doucette.

Investigators are working with the BC Coroners Service to confirm the victims’ identities. There’s no word on how long it had been since the pair was last seen or heard from.

“We haven’t been able to even confirm that the people that are deceased inside the home actually belong to the home. It’s still to early,” says Doucette.

He adds this does not appear to be a case of a murder-suicide. “We are treating this as a double murder.”

Police haven’t released any other details about the deaths and have not said whether there is a concern for public safety.

“Motive is not clear to us, at this point. And we’re asking the public to come forward. Any little piece of information could help with this. But it’s too early to tell, with motive,” says Doucette.

There have been no arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call 604-717-2500.

These are Vancouver’s 14th and 15th homicides of 2017.
