VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Before next year’s referendum on electoral reform in BC, voters are being asked for their input online.
Attorney General David Eby says a new website has been set up to collect input until February 28th, with results being made public a few weeks later.
“We want to design a referendum process that is based on the feedback we receive from British Columbians because we want a fair process,” says Eby.
“There’s no obligation on government to do this. In fact, there’s no legal obligation on government to hold a vote at all. The Constitution Act can be amended without this process.”

No date has been set for the mail-in referendum which must be held no later than November 30th, 2018.
