Two men stabbed in incident at Mount Seymour

By

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – They were camping together on Mount Seymour overnight when something went so wrong, they both ended up in the hospital.

RCMP tell us they’re investigating a double stabbing involving two men who knew each other.

The first 9-1-1 call was made shortly after 5 a.m., from a man who was injured. Emergency Services found the man about 1 km up the trail from the Mount Seymour parking lot. He was taken to the hospital.

A second 9-1-1 call was made around 8:30 a.m. RCMP say this call was from another man from the same area, saying he was also hurt and needed help. Emergency Services went up again and found him in the same general area as the first man.

Corporal Richard de Jong says it’s not clear how the violence started, but both men needed emergency care.

“We’re not looking for any other individuals, at this point. There is no concern for public safety. Our investigation at this point leads us to believe these two individuals were together last night, camping, in whatever capacity — we don’t know — and something happened with an altercation and both of them are injured.”

The men, both in their 30s, are still in the hospital.

The road to the parking lot at Mount Seymour was blocked off this morning, as police investigated the incident. It has since re-opened.
