Ryan Reynolds calls for donations to ‘Save the Rio’

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The Save the Rio campaign is getting some more local star power.
Ryan Reynolds is pleading with people to help save the landmark. This is far from the first time Reynolds has gushed about his love for his hometown of Vancouver.
This one comes in the form of a tweet.
The Deadpool star says The Rio Theatre in Vancouver is legendary, adding “Spoiler Alert: I plan to be buried there”.
He goes on to say “You can help rescue this landmark of community”.
Reynolds isn’t the first star to lend their voice to the campaign. Director Kevin Smith has also pledged to help save the local landmark though after suffering a heart attack, those plans have been complicated.
So far the Save the Rio Campaign has raised nearly $150,000.
