Vehicle believed to be linked to deadly hit and run in Maple Ridge found

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – A break in the case for Mounties in Maple Ridge following a deadly hit and run on Thursday night.

Investigators say they have found the suspect’s vehicle, but they’re not releasing any details right now.

The collision on Lougheed Highway near 216th Street on Thursday happened at about 10 p.m. and left a 31-year-old mother dead. The highway was shut down for close to 11 hours following the crash.

Tassis Vix, who worked as a veterinary assistant, leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter.

She had been working at the Haney Animal Hospital for the last 15 years. Vix’s boss describes her as a loving, caring woman who was always one to help others.
