OpenRoad buys Mercedes-Benz Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The largest auto-dealer chain in BC is expanding.

OpenRoad Auto Group has bought Mercedes-Benz Surrey for an undisclosed price. It opened in 1999 and has been on 104th avenue since 2002, with George Taubenfligel as its dealer principle.

“Mercedes-Benz has always been an aspirational brand for us, so to be able to partner with Mercedes-Benz Canada to represent one of the most premium automotive companies in the world is a very exciting opportunity for us,” says Christian Chia, President and CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group in a release.

OpenRoad CEO Christian Chia presides over 23 dealerships representing 19 brands. It has more than 1,200 employees.
