IHIT looks to identify suspects in 2017 North Vancouver murder

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Homicide investigators have released photos of two suspects and two vehicles believed to be involved in a murder that happened back in December.

Thirty-year-old Gavinder Grewal was found dead in his apartment in North Vancouver.

Surveillance footage shows two people in a black Nissan Titan, which investigators believe are linked to his murder.

The first man is described as being South Asian, between 20 to 25 years of age. He is seen wearing a black jacket and white shirt.

The second person of interest is also described as a South Asian man, this time between 25 and 30 years of age. He has a beard and was wearing a toque and dark jacket.

“We are asking the public’s help in identifying these two males or anyone associated to the Lexus RX350 or the Nissan Titan,” Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT says in a release. “There are people who have information about what happened to Mr. Grewal. We urge anyone with information to please come forward and speak with IHIT so that we can hold those responsible to account.”

Grewal’s death came two years after police issued a warning about him. Investigators said he had ties to gang activity, and “posed a significant risk” to the public.
