Burnaby crash leaves motorcyclist with potentially life-threatening injuries

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) – A motorcyclist is in serious, potentially life-threatening condition after a crash in Burnaby.

Around 5 p.m. on Saturday the biker and a Mini Cooper crashed at Griffiths and 18th Ave.

The 28-year-old motorcycle driver was thrown from his bike and was rushed to hospital.

The driver of the Mini Cooper has minor injuries.

Burnaby RCMP say they don’t think drugs to alcohol were factors, but speed likely was.

As motorcycle crashes peak over the summer months, Mounties are reminding all motorists to obey traffic laws and drive at an appropriate speed, adding it’s never a bad idea to review advice and tips from ICBC.

If you saw the crash, or have dash cam footage of it, you’re asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
