Threat leads to partial closure at UBC’s main campus

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The all clear has been given after a road closure this morning at the UBC campus in Point Grey.

At about 11:30 a.m., Mounties say they were alerted to a “non-specific threat” at the school. One building was evacuated for a little while. People have since been allowed back in.

University RCMP and the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service were brought in to gather evidence.
Investigators say they can’t substantiate the threat.

“We thank residents and students for their patience while areas were evacuated and ask for your continued co-operation while the investigation progresses,” says Sgt. Eric Baskette.
