Crash on Downtown Eastside claims life of Vancouver man

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A 73-year-old Vancouver man has died after being involved in a car crash on the Downtown Eastside Saturday morning.
Just before 9:00 am, a transit bus and car collided at the intersection of East Hastings and Princess Avenue. Vancouver Police say the bus was moving east and entering the intersection on a green light when a car going north on Princess drove in front of it and got hit.
The driver– and only person in the car– was taken to hospital where he later died. There were no other reported injuries.
No word yet on what caused the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
