32-year-old man is Abbotsford’s latest homicide victim

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A missing person’s case in Abbotsford is now a homicide investigation.

Corporal Frank Jang with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the case started as a missing person’s call from the victim’s family.

When officers arrived at the home of the 32-year-old missing man on Consort Crescent, they found him dead.

“Sukhpreet Grewal was the victim of this homicide. He was known to police.”

Jang says they are still trying to figure out if his death had anything to do with gang activity or drug dealing.

“We need people to come forward right now as our investigators are trying to determine a timeline of his activities leading up to his death,” Jang says. “So any family members or friends and associates that knew Mr. Grewal please, come forward and speak with IHIT.”

He adds Grewal’s death is not believed to be a random act based on what investigators have seen inside the home. “Once we go inside the home, we’re obviously going to learn more about what happened and gather the physical evidence.”

If you have any information about this incident, you’re asked to call homicide investigators at 1-877-551- IHIT (4448), or email IHIT at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. If you’d like to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
