Surrey Fusion Festival brings dozens of cultures together

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – It’s the ultimate celebration of food, music, and culture; that’s what an organizer is calling the Surrey Fusion Festival, which is bringing many cultures together before wrapping up Saturday night.

There are about 50 different pavilions of countries from around the world, six stages, and more than 150 performers at Holland Park — including some bigger names you might know.

“We have our headliners, Walk Off the Earth and Ranjit Bawa this year, which we’re really excited about,” explains Preeti Yadav who is Project Manager of the festival. “We have a great wine and beer tasting, that’s going to include a lot more different wines from different countries from around the world.”

Yadav says while this year’s wine and beer tasting options are expanding, the event is family-friendly.

“And a kid zone, which includes an arcade, a party van with karaoke, we have our BIA doing crafts for kids, and a story time tent with live entertainment for children.”

The festival is free. It’s expected to have drawn more than 100,000 people by the time it finishes at 10:00 p.m.
