‘Secret City’ wants your memories for Vancouver-inspired episode

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Producers of the Secret City audio series want Vancouverites to share their memories to create an episode about the city, specifically, Robson Square and the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (formerly the Art Gallery North Plaza.)

Heather Cant with Secret City says people’s stories and memories are paired with a local artist and then turned into an audio play.

“The local artist kind of brings that to life in whatever their artistic style is, whether they’re a writer or a poet or a musician or some hybrid of all of those things,” she said.

The episode was commissioned by the City of Vancouver as part of the VIVA Vancouver program.

“August 15 is the deadline for the people of Vancouver to send us their secrets and their stories,” Cant said. “After that, we will go through the process of selecting which ones we’re going to do this time around and which artists they’re going to be paired with.”

The Vancouver-based episode will launch September 27.
