Unsung Hero: Local woman a decades-long Girl Guides volunteer

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Parin Bhimani. She was nominated for the award by Vicky Ressl. Take a look at her story.

Parin has been volunteering with Girl Guides of Canada for nearly four decades. She was my Girl Guide leader in the 1980s and continued as my daughter’s Girl Guide leader until recently. She is still an active member of the movement. Parin has a quiet demeanor, but loves getting the youth active in team camaraderie and organized activity. Parin is also an active member of the Ismaili Community and volunteers within her community.

She is responsible for teaching youth religious hymns and prayers, and often mentors youth in taking on leadership roles within the community.

She is under-recognized for her years of service and her dedication to the multiple youth in the community make her an excellent candidate as an “Unsung Hero.”

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Parin with $500 to say thanks for stepping up and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.
