House fire in Surrey’s Bridgeview area quickly doused

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Flames broke out at a home this morning, not far from the site of a massive barge fire in the water off Surrey on Friday.
“It’s on the Surrey side of the Pattullo Bridge in Bridgeview. It’s [close to] where we had that barge fire last week,” said Darren Grieve in the NEWS 1130 Air Patrol.
He said at about 7:30 a.m., he and his pilot flew over the area and didn’t see anything, but came back about 15 minutes later to find the blaze fully engulfed.
Crews quickly arrived at the scene. It wasn’t long before the smoke turned from black to white.
There’s no word yet how it started.
