Unsung Hero: Delta man volunteers with Special Olympics teams

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Keith Bourne. He was nominated for the award by Geoff Smith. Take a look at his story.

Keith has been volunteering his time with Delta Special Olympics for almost 15 years.

He coaches the soccer and floor hockey programs in which he has taken teams to the Provincial Games earning a Bronze in floor hockey and a Gold in soccer. Keith also organizes tournaments and takes care of all the logistics for the athletes to get to the tournaments.

Keith is a big part of why the Delta Special Olympics program has run so smoothly and been such a success. We’d like to recognize him as our Unsung Hero.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Keith with $500 to say thanks for stepping up and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
