More charges laid in Surrey child pornography case

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A 36 year old charged with child pornography in January is now facing eight more charges.  Police say the Surrey man was involved in an international child-sex abuse investigation.

The charges include sexual assault, sexual interference, and possessing, making and distributing child pornography.  The man was first arrested in January, after RCMP followed up a tip that the accused was involved in an international trading ring, involving images and videos of children as young as five being sexually abused.

RCMP say their investigation led them to take action to protect nine children from further abuse, including seven in Metro Vancouver, one in Ontario and one in the U.S.
