VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Mikael Samuelsson potted a pair of goals to help propel the Vancouver Canucks to a 6-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks at Rogers Arena. All of the home team goals were scroed at even strength.

Jeff Tambellini and the Sharks Dany Heatley exchanged first period goals, before Raffi Torres and Samuelsson each scored goals early in the second period to give the Canucks the lead they would not surrender.

The 33 year old Swede scored his sixth goal of the season seven minutes into the third. Alex Burrows scored for second straight game with some help from the twins before Keith Ballard notched his first as a Canuck to wrap up the scoring.

Antti Niemi kept the Sharks from being embarrassed by making 26 saves. Roberto Luongo earned his ninth win, turning aside 32 Shark shots. Vancouver plays in Calgary next Wednesday.
