Bieksa fights pneumonia

VANCOUVER(NEWS1130) – Vancouver Canucks defenseman Kevin Bieksa has revealed that he has been fighting pneumonia and lost about eight pounds in the process. Bieksa says that he has been under the weather for about three weeks and had the flu as early as November 8 when the Canucks visited Montreal.
Bieksa, 29, did not dress Friday for the Canucks 6-1 win over San Jose and has been inconsistent with one goal in 21 games. Bieksa took most of practise Monday and hopes to play Wednesday when the Canucks begin a two game road trip in Calgary. Forward Manny Malhotra was not at practice Monday as he recovers from a case of the flu.
