VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Despite some speculation, Prime Minister Stephen Harper says he isn’t trying to woo Trevor Linden into federal politics.

Last week, the PM and the hockey hero were spotted sitting together at the Canucks game versus the Minnesota Wild at Rogers Arena.

The Courier reports rumours started spreading about Linden running for the Conservatives in Vancouver-Centre, especially when the party dumped candidate Rachel Greenfield.

That riding has been Liberal Hedy Fry‘s territory since 1993, but Linden could be the nightmare opponent for her; it’s tough to attack someone the city adores.

Linden says he’s not thinking about politics right now.
