Giants lose heart breaker in game one of playoffs

KENNEWICK, WA (NEWS1130) – Carter Ashton scored a power play goal with 2.2 seconds left in the first overtime period, to give Tri-City a 2-1 decision over the Vancouver Giants. The Americans lead the series 1-0.
The Giants lone goal came on the power play near the end of the first period by Brendan Rowinski. The Giants were out shot 44-26, as Mark Segal stopped 42 pucks in the Vancouver goal.
Don Hay remains at 101 post season coaching wins, tied with Ken Hodge for the WHL record. Game 2 is Saturday.
