North Surrey Rec Centre evacuated over chlorine leak

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A chlorine leak has led to the evacuation of the North Surrey Rec Centre this hour.
Surrey Fire says a hazmat team and firefighters are on scene. Callers to our newsroom say more than 50 people had to be evacuated.
Paul was one of them and says he was in his physiotherapy class when he found out about the leak.
“We were notified by staff at the pool that there is a chlorine leak, and everybody’s got to evacuate the building. Everybody was given blankets to keep them warm, because we were all in our swimsuits.”
He says they were out of the building in a matter of minutes.
