Researchers find any amount of alcohol can increase vehicle collisions

By

A new study has found that drinking even a single glass of beer or wine before getting behind the wheel can raise blood-alcohol concentrations enough to increase the chances a car crash.

Researchers at the University of California found that even a barely-detectable blood-alcohol level of point-zero-one per cent increased the chances of a collision.

The severity of the collision was sometimes enough to cause serious injury or even death.

Researchers concluded that no amount of alcohol seemed safe for driving.
