BC not keen to offer WiFi at campgrounds

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Campfires, hotdogs and WiFi?  There doesn’t appear to be much interest in bringing the Internet to BC campgrounds.  Many parks across Canada are bringing in WiFi, but BC isn’t following suit just yet.

Just one park in northern BC, Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, offers WiFi and it’s in a very remote area, so that’s mainly for safety reasons.

BC Parks says the ministry isn’t looking at bringing it in yet, but adds that could change at the whim of individual operators.

The Vancouver Sun had details of a recent survey that found just one-in-four people wanted Internet access while camping.
