SURREY (NEWS1130) – There’s some good news for students, parents and staff at a Surrey elementary school where an outbreak of bedbugs caused stress levels to spike a few weeks ago.
The district won’t name the school but says students were shifted to other classrooms as sniffer dogs tracked down the bedbugs and crews cleaned the room.
Several desks had to be thrown out.
It’s likely a student brought them in and the Surrey School District says it’s rare but does happen, similar to head lice. It adds that parents have been told about the situation and there’s no indication so far that the bugs have spread.
