Thousands of people took to the streets in Montreal to protest a new Quebec law.
The legislation puts strict limits on protests after more than 13 weeks of student unrest over tuition fee hikes.
It imposes hefty fines for anyone who tries blocking access to a school and limits the length, location and duration of protests.
Last night’s march was peaceful for the most part.
But police had to use tear gas and rubber bullets when Molotov cocktails and other projectiles started flying.
