VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Police Department is asking for your help in finding suspects linked to two brutal assaults in the last several days.

The first attack happened early Thursday morning at the West Pub at 400 Carrall Street on the Downtown Eastside.

Police say a woman was slashed repeatedly with a knife to her face, neck and arm by an ex-boyfriend. She is now recovering in hospital.

Officers are looking for Pedro Perez-Garrido in connection with this attack. The 46-year-old fled from the scene and has not been located by police.

Perez-Garrido is Hispanic, 6’1″ and 180 lbs. He has short salt and pepper coloured hair with brown eyes. He has multiple tattoos — a Virgin Mary on his back, a sword in a heart on his chest and a flower on his left calf.

The 61-year-old victim was treated, given stitches, then released.

The suspect is described as a white man, 6’0″, weighing 160 lbs. He’s between 18 and 26 years old, with short hair. It is believed he was wearing a blue hoodie at the time of the attack.
