SURREY (NEWS1130) – One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a car crash in Surrey last night.
Mounties say a 39-year-old man was heading west on 80th Avenue around 9:45 p.m. when he tried to make a left turn. He lost control of his car and ended up in a water-filled ditch.
“We can confirm one male is deceased and a second person was taking to RCH (Royal Columbian Hospital) on life-support, and the prognosis is not real good,” explains Sergeant Blair McColl.
Firefighters pulled the two passengers from the submerged car and performed CPR, but only one could be revived.
Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.
