Canucks re-sign forward Mason Raymond

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Left-winger Mason Raymond took a pay cut, but he avoided arbitration with the Canucks signing a $2.275-million one-year contract.

The 26-year-old made $2.6 million last season, scoring 10 goals adding 10 assists in 55 games. He chipped in with an assist in five playoff games.

Raymond’s offensive numbers have dropped since scoring 25 goals and adding 28 assists in the 2009-10 season. Since that time he has struggled with injuries, including a vertebrae fracture suffered in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final in 2011.

The six-foot, 185-pound forward was drafted by Vancouver in the second round of the 2005 NHL draft.
