Vancouver Police searching for high risk sex offender

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A high risk sex offender is wanted by Vancouver Police after failing to return to his halfway house yesterday. The VPD says 35-year-old Mervin Walkus is wanted Canada-wide.
Walkus is a convicted sex offender who reports to the Vancouver Police High Risk Offender Unit. He may be found in the Granville Entertainment District. He has no family in Vancouver
Description from Vancouver Police:
He is Aboriginal, 5’1″ tall, 150 lbs., and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a white sleeveless shirt, black pants with a reflective stripe and white Nike Shox runners. Walkus has a tattoo of “craw” on his right forearm.
If you see Walkus, you are asked not to approach him and call 911 immediately.
