Mt. Seymour #1 snowshoe-friendly ski resort in North America

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Major recognition for a local ski hill at which many of us learned to downhill ski or board.
Mount Seymour has been recognized as the number one snowshoe friendly ski resort in North America.
The accolade comes courtesy of Snowshoe Magazine and is based on criteria such as equipment rental, availability, and selection of activities.
“We’ve been working for a number of years to create a dedicated snowshoe area,” explains Simon Whitehead with Mount Seymour. “One of the things that we’ve been really super active in is creating 10 kilometres of dedicated trails and also offering some really diverse programs for all abilities and all ages.”
Snowshoe Magazine says any destination where you can get your child from school to snow in less than 30 minutes tops their charts.
“We’ve been offering a number of courses including trekking, winter survival and navigation. We kind of developed a series of programs that appeal to as many people as possible with a focus on enjoying the alpine and the environment,” adds Whitehead.
Grouse Mountain ranked an impressive number nine on an almost all-American list.
