VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The commissioner of the inquiry the Robert Pickton case is recommending BC start a regional police force.
As expected, the Missing Women Inquiry report finds there is systemic bias against the poor, drug-addicted sex workers Pickton targeted.
Wally Oppal’s final report runs more than 1,400 pages and chronicles investigations by Vancouver Police and the RCMP in Port Coquitlam; it says both were plagued by problems.
Oppal also recommends more services for sex workers and more communication between police departments.
