North Shore Rescue locate stranded snowboarder

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – North Shore Rescue have found another stranded snowboarder on Cypress Mountain.

North Shore Rescue’s Tim Jones says one of their teams coming up Highway 99 located the snowboarder. “We’ve hydrated him and clothed him, and we’re bringing him out through a track that came in. It’s not a trail or anything, it’s on the north branch of Montizambert Creek.

Jones says it has a lot of hallmarks of the rescue earlier this week. He says they had voice contact and then the cell phone died. “I do believe he did stay put, but we feared he wasn’t staying put.”

He says it was a very challenging rescue mission.

The snowboarder is believed to have come down the Sky Chair from Top Gun with another skier, before he went out-of-bounds.

Sebastian Boucher was rescued earlier this week on Cypress.
