Significant drug bust made in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Surrey RCMP took down what they are calling a significant drug bust this week.

It was discovered as Fraser Health was taking care of some routine well water testing.

About 250 gallons, or  five standard bathtubs full of what Mounties believe to be meth.

Cpl Bert Paquet with Surrey RCMP says it happened in the Fraser Heights area of the city and all the substances found are being tested right now to confirm everything.

Although all chemicals have now been removed from the scene, Paquet says various agencies will be doing further environmental testing to surrounding properties to check for any negative impacts.

He says the house was equipped with a live feed surveillance camera and indicators of production throughout the building.

RCMP say they arrested a 52-year-old man and charges are likely to be filed.
