TORONTO – Canadians can now properly register a .ca website address in both official languages.

The Canadian Internet Registration Authority has added the ability to create a web URL with French accented-characters, along with the standard letters, numbers and hyphens.

The owners of .ca domain names have the exclusive rights to purchase accented variations for their web addresses.

The new registration rules officially kicked in Sunday.
